I have only one complaint about Mina Carter's books: THEY ARE TOO SHORT! I have been looking and looking and looking for just this sort of H/h combo. Specifically a big, very strong alpha hero that loves and cherishes and protects a small heroine. But, the clincher is, I want a heroine that is strong in her own right. I'm sick to death of hs whose claim to femininity is their low self esteem. Mina Carter delivers on all accounts.Granted, I've only read Sunlight & Slavery and The Winter Bear's Bride. However, I loved how the tiny heroine in each story was not a weakling. In both of these books, the h was strong and capable without being b!tchy. (Another trope I hate as much as low self esteem in a h is one that "proves" the hs strength by making her into a nasty b!tch.) I have enjoyed both of these books soooo much. I just wish they were developed into a full length novel rather than such short novellas. I've read two of them in two days. Please, Ms. Carter! Use your talents for a well-crafted story and write a full length novel!! Pretty please? :)

I REALLY LIKED THIS STORY. The story was fast paced an the characters were a study in opposites attracts. However as much as I would love to read the last book in this series I will not buy it. It's only 70 odd pages not worth the money for such a short read.

Already read this re-released book...but loved it again and it was worth the money twice.
What a great story. Too bad it was so short. I loved how caring knuckles was even though he was so big. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Wonderful story about a Gargoyle and a human. There love starts out with a little adventure. But they end up together. Sigh! I really liked this story.
Its a great little story. Nice setting, world building. Not predictable. The characters are hot and relatable. I liked the villains getting it in the end.
Epilogue Many years beyond our story when Neri has left this mortal coil, the gargoyle guards the grave of his love, locked in stone as he waits for her to be born again.
WTF? Readers want to leave a story feeling good, this epilogue just left me hurting. I want to believe that the characters live happily ever after when I'm done with a story. Not that the heroine dies and the hero guards her grave. This ending makes the whole story obsolete. It doesn't matter what the book was about because in the end she dies. This is my first book in this series and I have no want to read another one.
